The CREATE cluster will jointly analyse and synthesize results achieved in all relevant projects funded within the 2014-2020 programme, Axis 2, and provide systematic access to this knowledge. It will enhance transferability of project results using an on-line tool, a good practice handbook, as well as conferences, workshops and webinars with partners and stakeholders and initiatives for showcasing good implementation examples. CREATE will
use the knowledge communication and dissemination for increasing awareness among local and regional actors in the programme area on options and benefits from climate action across the programme area to prepare the ground for more effective and more efficient partnerships between knowledge providers and local actors.
The overall project objective is to systematically analyse existing knowledge to support
decisions for climate adaptation among planners, decision-makers and stakeholders in
the programme area and detect knowledge gaps. It will improve accessibility providing
systematic access to data and tools and understanding of options for implementation of
adaptive measures. This will enable decision makers at all levels. CREATE will advance
the capacity of regional and local authorities to identify appropriate measures to address
institutional weaknesses, improve cross-border cooperation, and increase the resilience
to climate change in the cooperation area through integrated and shared planning
options tackling physical, geomorphological, ecological, and socio-economic impacts.
Based on the systematic analysis of the knowledge available it will provide grounded
insight in future needs for enhancing knowledge and transboundary collaboration.
The project will provide a systematic inventory of the state of the art of knowledge on
climate change impacts on the Adriatic coastal systems, successful response strategies,
and open challenges, generated by the projects participating in the Cluster and beyond
and make it publicly available to policy makers and stakeholders.
Results and findings will be disseminated relying on active involvement of the target
groups in seminars, workshops, and sectoral conferences. Particular emphasis will be
laid on the dissemination of good practice examples with site visits, a handbook and an
adaptation award showcasing good examples from the projects of the cluster and
beyond. From the analysis of the state of the art and interactions with stakeholders and
EUSAIR, the project will furthermore formulate proposals for future action paving the
way to a sustained and extensive improvement of adaptation capacity throughout the
cooperation area. Particular attention will be dedicated to provide support for
implementation of already prepared and adopted plans
